In a recently released survey titled “State of Mainframe Modernization 2025,” Kyndryl provides insights into how businesses worldwide are leveraging modernization strategies to expedite artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and strengthen their hybrid IT initiatives.

The extensive research involved interviews with 500 senior IT and business leaders globally, revealing that the average return on investment (ROI) for mainframe modernization projects currently ranges from 288% to 362%. This significant increase in ROI surpasses previous years, as more organizations implement agile modernization frameworks alongside AI technologies.
