Google’s AI Assistant, Gemini, Makes Debut on Google TV: Revolutionizing Home Entertainment and Beyond

Google’s AI assistant, named Gemini, is set to make its debut on smart TVs. The tech giant unveiled plans to integrate Gemini with Google TV, enabling users to converse with the AI in a natural, fluid manner.

Upon complete deployment, this expansion of Gemini will extend the reach of Google’s AI to over 300 million active devices powered by Google TV and Android TV OS.

In terms of entertainment-related queries, Google envisions Gemini being utilized to aid individuals with varying interests in finding mutually agreeable content to watch. It could also serve as a catch-up service for missed episodes of favorite shows or assist in locating titles when their names are forgotten.

Additionally, users can pose any type of query to the AI, much like they would with the AI chatbot on their smartphones. For instance, it could be used by children and parents for homework help, families for vacation planning, individuals for self-learning new skills, among other applications.

Google ensures that the introduction of Gemini does not render the existing Google Assistant integration obsolete. The traditional commands will continue to function as before.

The launch of Gemini on Google TV commences with the TCL QM9K series today. In the latter half of the year, it is expected to roll out on the Google TV Streamer, Walmart onn 4K Pro, select Hisense U7, U8, and UX models, and TCL QM7K, QM8K, and X11K models. Further features will be progressively added over time.
