Stellantis Confirms Data Breach Impacting Millions of Customer Records Amidst Salesforce Hack
Automotive conglomerate Stellantis, responsible for brands such as Chrysler, Fiat, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram, has acknowledged a data breach involving customer personal information. In an official statement released on Sunday, the company revealed that a third-party service provider’s platform supporting their North American customer service operations suffered a cybersecurity incident.
The statement confirmed that contact details were compromised in the breach, but declined to provide further specifics about the types of data affected. Stellantis has yet to disclose the number of customers whose information was exposed.
According to Bleeping Computer, the data breach at Stellantis is connected to a hack of its Salesforce database, with the ShinyHunters hackers claiming responsibility for the attack. It’s reported that approximately 18 million customer records were stolen from the database.
Stellantis joins a growing list of companies, including Cloudflare, Google, and Proofpoint, among others, who have fallen victim to a recent data breach targeting Salesloft Drift. Furthermore, many other companies have also reported losing their data from their Salesforce instances.
