Post-Charlie Kirk’s Death: Republican Groups Call for Recognition of Transgender Ideology-Inspired Violence as Domestic Terrorism

In the aftermath of the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, the Republican policy infrastructure swiftly sprang into action. Notably, the Heritage Foundation, responsible for the publication of Project 2025, and its offshoot, the Oversight Project, advocated for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to classify “Transgender Ideology-Inspired Violent Extremism” (TIVE) as a recognized category within domestic terrorism threats.
